Biography
Christine Karl is a Health Care Quality Project Coordinator at the Institute for Health Policy. Christine works primarily in the area of maternal, infant and child healthcare quality improvement. She assists in the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of programs and initiatives that affect the health of women, infants and children in Michigan, placing an emphasis on those populations which are most vulnerable.
Christine is a registered nurse with an extensive clinical background in pediatric intensive care, chronic disease management, and ambulatory care. She received a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Detroit Mercy and has pursued doctoral studies in philosophy at Duquesne University, with a concentration in moral philosophy and health care ethics. Additionally, she has served both on the Medical Ethics Committee and as the Behavioral Health Recipient Rights Advisor for the St. John Providence Hospitals, Ascension Health, Michigan.
