Education
The Institute for Health Policy continues to provide technical assistance and support to health plan care and disease management programs. This includes clinical case management education for health plan case managers addressing conditions prevalent among the Medicaid population. Sessions may be offered via web modules or one-day seminars and include disease pathophysiology, pharmacotherapy, and patient education and self-management strategies.

Prevention of Early Elective Delivery
IHP is pleased to announce that a web-based course has been developed for the Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP) care coordination staff who are providing services to Michigan Medicaid mothers and infants. The purpose of this course is to increase the Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP) providers’ knowledge of potential risks to the mother and infant of Early Elective Delivery before 39 weeks by providing evidence-based information and program expectations for educating mothers and their families. Michigan Public Health Institute and Michigan State University, Institute for Health Policy state they are the owners of the material and no copyright has been breached for this material.
Continuing Education for Nurses - Participants who pass this course and complete the demographic information in the survey will receive 1.00 nursing contact hours of Continuing Education.

Case Management Conferences
The Institute for Health Policy, in collaboration with Michigan Medicaid Services Administration, holds Case Management Conferences each year in March and April. These day-long conferences bring together leading content experts to share valuable information, exchange ideas, and encourage innovation in the case management field. Evidence-based initiatives and best practices are shared to improve patient outcomes. The intended audience is Medicaid Health Plan Case Managers, as well as CSHCS Case managers as the topics change each year.
